Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore nursing student"s experience in a simulation education.
Methods: The participants of this study were eleven nursing students in junior and senior classes. Data was collected through documents, observation, audio and video tape-recorded in-depth interview individually from participants. It was analyzed using the phenomenological methodology by Colaizzi.
Results: From significant statements, six theme clusters were identified as follows: expectation and burden to new form of education; going into actual situation unconsciously; motivation in learning by self-evaluation; acquiring of nursing skill and knowledge through body; helpful education for clinical practice and theory; and identification with a nurse.
Conclusion: The results of this study may become a foundation of development for educational curriculum in nursing to evaluate and manage a education using simulation effectively.
